The Page Is A Playground

Let’s be honest: your current writing output is limited to aggressive passive-aggressive emails, shopping lists, and the occasional unhinged comment on a viral video. Your creative brain is currently flatter than a day-old sel roti. It’s time for an intervention.

Welcome to "The Page Is A Playground", a writing workshop designed for people who think "creative writing" is just a fancy way of lying to yourself on paper. On Saturday, June 20th, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, we are gathering at the Photo Circle Library in Sanepa to engage in the dangerous activity of actually using our imaginations.

What’s the Point?

We’ve all got stories stuck in our heads, usually buried somewhere between our mid-week work stress and the crippling fear of not being "productive" enough. This workshop is your chance to excavate them. We’re moving past the "blank page syndrome" and diving headfirst into guided prompts that will force your brain to switch gears from "default survival mode" to "slightly unhinged artist."

Expect storytelling exercises, creative play, and imaginative thinking that will make you wonder why you haven’t tried this sooner. No, you don't need to be a literary genius. In fact, if you’re slightly mediocre, you’ll fit right in with the rest of the gang.

The Logistics (Because We Need Them)

  • When: June 20th, Saturday. 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Don't be late; the story waits for no one, and we don't like lingering around.

  • Where: Photo Circle Library, Sanepa. A place of culture, so please try to look like you’ve read at least one book in the last five years.

  • The Damage: Rs 300. This covers all your materials. It’s cheaper than a fancy coffee and infinitely more likely to leave you with a lingering sense of existential satisfaction rather than just a caffeine crash.

This whole beautiful mess is being organized by the lovely people at @communitycreatives.np. They seem to have their lives together, so follow them on Instagram to see how they do it, or just to feel better about your own chaotic existence.

Come ready to scribble, laugh at your own terrible drafts, and perhaps realize that your brain isn't as rusty as you thought. It’s just been waiting for an excuse to run wild. See you at the library—bring your wit, your weird ideas, and maybe a snack, because creative breakthroughs are notoriously hungry work.
