Entrepreneurship & Innovation Challenge Program

Attention all aspiring Nepalese tech bros and sis, social entrepreneurs, and anyone who has ever said the phrase "let’s disrupt the market" in a local coffee shop. The U.S. Embassy Nepal has officially dropped a Call for Proposals for their Entrepreneurship Accelerator and Innovation Challenge Program.

The goal? To help you build market-ready ventures. The real goal? To make sure that while you scale your brilliant startup, you also happen to buy more American products, hire United States-affiliated mentors, and adopt American business practices. It’s a win-win: you get to chase the ultimate dream of economic growth and job creation, and Uncle Sam expands the market for American tech platforms and services. Synergy at its finest!

What’s on the American Wishlist?

They aren't just handing out dollars for any random idea. To catch the Embassy's eye, your proposal needs to hit these specific checkboxes:

  • The Bridge-Builders: Successfully expand commercial ties between the United States and Nepal.

  • The Matchmakers: Directly connect local Nepali entrepreneurs with U.S.-affiliated mentors, investors, companies, and platforms.

  • The Copycats (The Good Kind): Enthusiastically promote American best practices in entrepreneurship and innovation.

  • The Local Heroes: Support locally grounded solutions that actually drive real economic growth and create actual jobs.

  • The Patriots: Align beautifully with "Freedom 250" and celebrate the United States’ grand legacy of innovation, entrepreneurship, and global economic leadership.

The Cold, Hard Cash (and the Clock)

Now, let’s talk numbers. They are dangling a funding carrot of $10,000 to $50,000 per project. In Kathmandu terms, that’s a lot of Americano coffees and high-speed internet bills covered.

You have a performance period of up to 12 months to prove that your innovation can actually change the world (or at least the local economy).

The Final Countdown

Stop polishing your LinkedIn profile and start writing that proposal. The absolute deadline to shoot your shot is June 11, 2026, by 5:00 p.m. Nepal Standard Time. Not a minute later, because American punctuality is one of those "best practices" they mentioned.

Pack your grandest business ideas into a PDF and send them over to: KTMGrants@state.gov.

May the funding odds be ever in your favor, and may your startup become the next big thing that bridges the Himalayas and Silicon Valley!
