Dust off your vintage tracksuits and maybe check your hamstrings for signs of life. The 4th National Golden Athletics Meet 2026 is officially invading Dasarath Stadium, Tripureswor, Kathmandu from 7th to 9th May 2026 (24–26 Baishakh 2083 BS). That’s three whole days of people being remarkably fast, disturbingly athletic, and probably looking much better in spandex than you do.
The Breakdown (of Events, hopefully not Muscles)
Dasarath Stadium, Nepal’s premier venue for sporting glory, will play host to a multi-generational festival of sweat. Organized by the Athletics Family of Nepal (AFN) and managed by ProSports, with approval from the Nepal Athletics Association and recognition from the National Sports Council of Nepal, we’re talking three core categories:
-
Youth (U-18): Where teenagers discover that having infinite energy actually has a practical use besides TikTok dances.
-
Open: The elite. These athletes consider ‘walking’ a sluggish form of punishment. They will be competing for cash prizes, medals, and—the ultimate bragging right—a “national record bonus.” We assume this bonus is enough to buy a lifetime supply of momo.
-
Veteran: The category for those whose dedication to the sport is matched only by their dedication to Moov pain relief spray. It’s inspirational, terrifying, and mildly creaky all at once.
