108 Surya Namaskar

So, you’ve decided that the best way to spend your Sunday morning—the one day of the week you could actually sleep in—is to contort your body into 108 variations of a "sun salutation." Respect. Or, as your bed probably calls it, a severe lapse in judgment.

Welcome to our 108 Surya Namaskar challenge in honor of International Yoga Day. On June 21st, 2026, from 6:30 AM to 8:30 AM, we invite you to the International Club in Sanepa to sweat out your weekend sins, align your chakras, and possibly discover muscles you didn't know you had (and definitely didn't want to meet).

The "Why," Besides the Obvious Need to Suffer

Why 108? Because apparently, 107 just wouldn’t be enough to fully convince your body that you’re serious about this whole "mindful living" thing. It’s an endurance test disguised as a spiritual journey. You’ll challenge your body, attempt to reset your mind (which will mostly be focused on why you aren't currently eating pancakes in bed), and soak in the "energy" of a community that is equally committed to this peculiar form of dawn-time gymnastics.

It’s the perfect way to look down on your friends who are still dreaming while you’re busy achieving a level of fitness—or at least a level of exhaustion—that makes you feel superior for the rest of the day.

The Damage and the Reward

  • The Investment: Rs 1499. Yes, it costs money to be this uncomfortable. But wait! It includes a healthy breakfast. Think of it as a bribe for your body to forgive you for the 108 times you folded yourself like a piece of origami.

  • Registration: Slide into the DMs at @uryayoga. They are the ones facilitating this madness, so feel free to express your gratitude (or your complaints) directly to them.

Come for the enlightenment, stay for the breakfast you’ll be aggressively hungry for. Even if you don't achieve inner peace, you’ll definitely achieve a level of physical fatigue that will make your Sunday afternoon nap the best one you’ve ever had. See you at the mat—assuming you can find the willpower to actually get there.
